Well, the title says it all. I’m way behind with the writing. Let’s do the good news first. The printer arrived (the Canon). I’ve already been making art prints for sale on my Etsy store. As you see, I still have my HP. There’s nothing wrong with it, it just doesn’t like thick paper. The HP is for everyday printing and the Canon is strictly for business printing.
I ended up rearranging the office so I could house both printers side by side and it opened up some floor space, which is always nice for dancing.
Here in Kentucky, it’s been nice. Hit the 80s yesterday and it’s supposed to be the high 70s the rest of week. We do have a little rain coming, but I love warm weather, so I’ve been spending a nice chunk of my day outside with Boda.
Now for the bad. I’m way, way, way behind with the writing. I ended up taking off a few days to attend to some personal stuff so I was out of synch for awhile. Yesterday, the power briefly went out and when my computer rebooted, it kept going to the “Automatic Repair” blue screen of death. I tried multiple things and finally got it to let me log in, but it took me all day.
To make matters worse, I lost the beginning of a new chapter. Fortunately, the chapter started coming back to me last night so I wrote everything down and worked on that today. Amazingly enough, it’s still been a good week. Maybe I’m just optimistic.
The Devil’s Hymn
The second book in The Devil’s Reign series, The Devil’s Hymn, was released on the 14th (last Monday). It’s available in both paperback and ebook. I’ll start writing the last book of the series later on this year.
The Green Hour
The second book in The Hourglass Collection, The Green Hour, will be released next month, May 19th. The book is currently available for pre-order. I’m hoping to release book three this year as well.
Conjure Volume 2
I’m putting the finishing touches on the second book in the Conjure series. It’ll be available as an ebook and the pre-order will be up and running the beginning of next month. The book will be released June 16th.
Crime/Thriller Series
I’m currently 90% finished with the copyedit for book one in my forthcoming crime/thriller series. I plan on finishing this weekend. Next month I’ll be working through the proofread. As of right now, I have the book set to be released in August. I’ll have more information about the release as well as the cover reveal and book trailer in the coming months.
After I finish working through the final round of edits for book one, I’ll be starting the line edit for book two. I’m hoping to release book two this year as well.
I’m currently writing book three and am way behind. I did manage to write two chapters this morning, adding 2k to manuscript. I’m resting at 7,343 words. Regardless of how far behind I am, I plan on completing the first draft this month and will be setting up a couple of writing sprints this weekend and next week. I don’t have a set word count. It’s a novella, so where the first draft ends is where it ends.
Itch
Trying something new, I’ve decided to give Itch a try. Even though it’s mainly for gamers, there are some books available on the site, so I figured why not. All of my books are on the site with the poetry books being on sale—30% off for NaPoWriMo 2025.
On Repeat
This song has been running through my head all morning. Naked Eyes - Always Something There To Remind Me.
Alright ya’ll. That’s it for me. Back to work. Everyone have a great weekend and enjoy the weather.
