I’m currently working on two main projects. One is a poetry collection and the other is the first book in my forthcoming crime/thriller series.
Conjure Volume 2 - New poems will be posted on Tuesday and Saturday.
Forthcoming Novella - New chapters will be posted on Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday.
I just launched the page last night, but there are 10 posts on the site.
Changes To Nefarious Tales
I’m still here and not going anywhere, but there have been some changes. I’ve opened my original newsletter back up and have decided to use Nefarious Tales for news, updates, and new poems and stories only. Everything is free to read. I’ve removed the paywall as well, so everyone can read through the archives.
Writing Life
My sister and I went Christmas shopping yesterday and I bought nothing for the humans. The cat and dog made out like bandits, though. We’ve decided to try again Friday—fingers crossed.
What does this have to do with my writing life? Well…Monday, I started working on a new short story (it might be a novella, just going with the flow right now). My goal was to get to 15k by the 15th. I still might meet that goal, but in order to do that, I’m going to have to actually write.
I wrote 677 words Sunday and 1,017 words Monday. I went shopping yesterday, and today I’ve been doing administrative work. Friday, I’m going shopping again.
Tomorrow, I plan on doing writing sprints all day. I may do sprints again Saturday or Sunday, or both days—it depends on how well I do tomorrow. My goal is still the same though—15k by the 15th.
I finished a short story a week ago and submitted it for publication—fingers crossed. It’s in review right now and I’m not sure when the final decision is going to be made. I’ll post updates as I find out more.
I did not meet my goal for the poetry book last month, so that means I have to write two poetry books this month. I’m going to set aside a few days to push through as much of the poems as I can. On a good day, I can write 60 poems. My best average is around 30. I might have to set aside 4 days.
Divine Madness: A Dark Poetry Collection will be released in January. The book is available for pre-order on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, Google Play, Apple Books and The Great British Bookshop. I’ll be posting some poems from the book shortly, so stay tuned for that.
I would like to get an audiobook done by release day, but the young lady I’m interested in narrating the book won’t be back until January, so it might not happen until after the book’s released.
On Repeat
I’ve had a truckload of songs flowing through my head these past few days, but there is one that’s standing out more than the others—Tears by The Neville Brothers.
Alright ya’ll, that’s it for today. I’m going to relax.
