I wish you'd miss me
Written for a prompt on Instagram - “I wish you’d miss me”
I wish you’d miss me
like the sun misses
the moon, forever chasing
each other. Their maddening
love rampaging under
the blackened sky
while light and dark separate
their tormented souls.
But you’d rather linger
among bitter thorns and
desecrated soils lamenting
what could have been.
