Forthcoming Poetry Book
My new poetry book will be released in January. I finished the editing and formatting phases last month and will be doing a cover reveal on the 13th (next week), here on Nefarious Tales. Everyone else will get to see the cover on the 15th. Here’s one of the poems included in the book.
Time Taunts
I lay naked
in a pool of madness
gripping onto sanity’s
hand while time
taunts me.
Pain seeps, spilling
over sands of life,
burying shards
of my past while
time whispers.
Hands grasp, pulling
me deeper into
death’s pit of despair
while the moon
laughs.
I reach for light
while darkness
shrouds, blinding
the truth resting
inside my pillar.
What Have I Been Working On?
Not writing, that’s for sure. I had a migraine from hell this week so spent most of the time hopped up on meds. Even though I felt like crap, I forced myself to stay productive by revamping The Nefarious Ones. There are still a few minor things I have to do to the site, but I’m taking a break from that right now as I have an idea for a new product, and want to work on that today and tomorrow.
Next week I plan on working on a short story that I’m hoping to submit for publication. The deadline is the end of this month and I haven’t written anything for it, so I plan on dedicating my life to that next week.
NaNoWriMo
Can we say it’s a bust at this point? I’ve written a little over 1700 words. It’s amazing how I can push out a story in a month with no problem but when I sit down with the intention of doing it, nothing happens. It’s like my brain turns off, or in my case, I get Hell’s migraine.
Am I upset about this? No. I participated in Camp NaNo twice this year and got two novellas out of it. I also managed to release four books this year while writing three more. It is what it is at this point.
Crime Thriller Series
The second book in the series has been sent off to my beta reader. I should receive her feedback in a couple of weeks. Even though I was hoping to write the third and fourth books this month, I’ve still made more progress with the story than I originally planned. Plus the year’s not over yet. December might surprise me.
On Repeat
I love this song. It’s one of my Jewel Quest playing jams. I hope you enjoy Green & Gold by Lianne La Havas.
That’s it ya’ll. Hopefully next week I’ll be a little more productive, but until then, everything have a safe and wonderful weekend.
