Camp NaNoWriMo
This morning, I finished the first draft of the second book in the crime/thriller novel. That’s right, I finished with a little over 50k words. I’ll add more words when I start editing in a couple (or a few) months. I didn’t get the 30k for Camp NaNo, but that’s fine. I got the first draft into novel range and that was my main goal.
The Red Hour
The Red Hour is currently available for preorder through Amazon, Apple Books, Fable, Google Play, Kobo, Smashwords, Thalia, and Vivlio. It will be available through Barnes & Noble next month. The poetry collection will be released September 20, 2024. You can watch the book trailer below.
A Novella
My first novella is currently with a Beta Reader. I’m looking for a couple more Beta Readers for the story. If anyone’s interested, they can visit my Contact page and shoot me an email. The novella is horror and does have child abuse (physical, verbal, emotional) and domestic violence in the story.
What’s The Big Change?
There’s been some things that happened with Ream, the subscription platform I currently use, this past month that’s rubbing me and a few other authors the wrong way. I’m in the process of looking for another site to use for the subscriptions. Before anyone say, “use substack”, I’d rather not. I like this site, but I love the book reading feature that Ream offers.
I’m currently looking to have something connected to my website and am testing out a few options. As of right now, I’m still using Ream, but if I get something set up on my official site, I’ll be moving everything over to there.
Yesterday, I started testing out a few sites. Each of them has pros and cons, but only one of them utilizes a built in reader where I can have everything separated into chapters. So, what’s the problem? They don’t offer monthly subscriptions, only yearly. I feel that may deter people from subscribing.
So, right now, I’m up in the air. I wish I could combine a couple of the sites, and I’m going to actually try that today and see if it works out. I’ll let everyone know when the move happens.
