With everything going on right now with generative AI prompts popping up in books, I feel it’s necessary to let everyone know where I stand on generative AI when it comes to my works.
Rena Aliston’s AI Policy
Rena Aliston practices the traditional craft of writing and believes that maintaining full creative control of her work is essential. All stanzas, narrative text, dialogue, and descriptive content for her poetry and stories are, and will continue to be, written entirely by her, without the assistance of artificial intelligence (AI/LLMs).
Rena Aliston does not use generative AI for:
writing any of her poems or stories
idea generation
drafting any of her poems or stories
character name generation or to create character arcs, storylines, or backstories
I respect your choices. But what is the point of the post? All writers have their own methods. Sorry if it's clear I missed it.
I appreciate it. I don't use AI at all. I tried to write a smutty story once as a comparison, and the language filter prevented it from creating anything "spicy". Besides, I noticed that folks who are using it for sentence structure and ideas aren't really creating anything new or different. I look forward to more of your stories.
